Friday is the long day. The show stays open until 7pm, and from 3.30pm adult and concession entry drops to a discounted evening rate — the cheapest way for an adult to see the show, and a workable plan for anyone finishing work in the city. Which day suits depends on the visit you want. Friday has the longest hours and the discounted evening session. Saturday is a full day, and the second of the two days the Family Pass covers. Sunday pairs the show with Father’s Day, and both weekend days run the free kids’ zone covered below. If the plan is to compare boats seriously rather than wander, give yourself a full session from the 9.30am opening — six pavilions take longer to work through than one lap suggests.
The venue is the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre at 21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth, and the show occupies Pavilions 1 to 6. Two details are worth flagging before you buy. The Family Pass is valid on Friday and Saturday only, so a Father’s Day visit on the Sunday means individual tickets — worth knowing before you promise the whole family a day out. And the Friday evening rate is the outright bargain of the show: three and a half hours on the floor for $12.50 plus the booking fee, or $15 at the gate. A ticket includes entry, the stage demonstrations, the entertainment and access to all of the 80-plus exhibitors, so there is nothing more to pay once you are inside.

Inside the pavilions: what 80-plus exhibitors covers
The organisers bill the show as “WA’s must-attend boating event of the year”, and the scale is real: more than 80 exhibitors across six pavilions. The boats range from family trailer craft to high-performance vessels, and around them sit marine technology, on-water gear, and marine products and services — the full supply chain of getting on the water in Western Australia, under one roof.
If you are shopping rather than browsing, that concentration is the point. Brands, dealers and suppliers that would take weeks to visit individually share one building for three days, which makes the show the most efficient place in the state to compare boats side by side and put the same question to several people in an afternoon. Away from the stands, the Boat Shed Stage hosts live demonstrations and Sea Safe sessions across the weekend. The organisers release the full stage schedule closer to the show, so check the programme on the event website before you set an arrival time around a particular session. For families, Little Nippers Cove runs free kids’ activities on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The 400 GTS is a 12.4-metre open walkaround with a glass-shielded helm, folding side terraces and convertible sunbeds, rated to a maximum of 850 hp of Mercury V8 and V10 outboard power for up to 50 knots.
